Rent the first floor of the East Wing in a very special Grade II listed self catering holiday let in the beautiful Cotswold village of Chalford, between Stroud and Cirencester in the Cotswolds. The loft annex forms part of a large listed property, once occupied by the owner of one of the local mills.
The Weavers’ Loft is believed to be originally the ‘factory floor’ for the weaving of wool or silk from nearby Sevilles’ Mill and consequently has lovely spacious and light-filled rooms with high ceilings, and panelling throughout. There’s even the height measurements of some of the children that, we assume, worked there – see if you can find them when you visit!
The recently updated accommodation opens into the wonderful large wood panelled, open plan living space with dining area, kitchen, sofas, wood burning stove and under-floor heating.
The Loft also has its own private garden with stunning views down the valley.
There are two bedrooms (1 double and 1 bunk room) and two bathrooms (one en-suite with shower, the other with bath). The apartment sleeps 4 comfortably and also has a double sofa-bed should the need arise.
This part of the house is thought to be about 400 years old in contrast to the more ‘modern’ Georgian West Wing of the house added around 1820 by the mill owner.
